The XL programme is an alternative learning programme. It forms part of the Prince’s Trust which is a programme run in England, Scotland and Ireland.
It is the first time that this programme is being launched to a foreign country, Malta being the first country to offer the students such a programme. It is a non-academic programme where students have the possibility to learn interested topics related to their basic needs, where students are given the tools to discover their own qualities and potentials which will help them to be functioning citizens and to work well within the society.
The coursework covered ranges from topics such as
- Personal and social development
- Money management
- Supporting others in the community
- Managing habits
- Participating in sports
- Healthy lifestyle
- Career planning
- Work experience
Moreover at the end of the coursework students can obtain the equivalent of 2 ordinary levels which they can present for work or to further their studies.
